Dr. Tara Prasad Joshi is a Nepalese politician from Dadeldhura who won the Dadeldhura-1 seat in the 2026 House of Representatives election for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), defeating Nepali Congress candidate Nain Singh Mahara by over 7,000 votes. Previously a district chair of CPN-UML Dadeldhura and elected as an independent to the Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly in 2022, he has a background in teaching and long involvement in student politics and democratic movements including the 2006 People's Movement. He holds a PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University and initiated Vision Dadeldhura to promote agriculture-based industries, leading to the establishment of Farwestern Agro Giant Limited.
