Before politics, he ran a hostel in Kathmandu and served as Chairman of Madhesh Library & Research Center; he previously contested the 2022 election unsuccessfully under Hamro Nepali Party. In the 2026 Nepal general election, he won decisively for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) from Siraha-2 with 39,561 votes, breaking traditional party strongholds in Madhesh.
