Sasmit Pokharel

Biography

Sasmit Pokharel is a 29-year-old law graduate from Kathmandu University School of Law who served as Advisor to the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and worked in education and legal analysis roles before entering politics. A former Central Committee Member of Sajha Party, he joined Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and achieved a landslide victory in the 2026 Nepal general election from Kathmandu-5, defeating Nepali Congress's Pradip Paudel with 30,737 votes.
