Pushpa Kumari Chaudhary, born in Saptari district to a Tharu family, is a health worker and ANM by profession who worked with USAID Nepal and Marie Stopes Nepal prior to entering politics. She joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party upon its formation and won the Saptari-1 constituency in the 2026 Nepal general election with 38,195 votes (53.55%). One of only 14 women directly elected to the House of Representatives that year, she represents a significant voice for her region.
