Gyanendra Singh Mahata is a Nepali politician and former television journalist who worked alongside RSP President Rabi Lamichhane for over a decade, also operating an FM radio and serving as Far Western Coordinator for the Broadcasting Association of Nepal. Born in 2042 BS in Shivnath VDC, Baitadi, Nepal, he holds a Master's degree in management and entered politics with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), serving as provincial in-charge and currently as secretary of the central science, communication, and information department. In the 2026 general election, he won the Kanchanpur-3 seat by a wide margin of 17,675 votes, defeating the Nepali Congress candidate in a former stronghold of ex-Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
